My stay at The Merchant Hotel was a mixed bag. The rooms, particularly in the Victorian section, felt dark and cluttered, with dirty windows that could use a good cleaning. On the plus side, the dining experience in the Great Room was really good, with stellar breakfast service that left me impressed. The location in the Cathedral Quarter is quite vibrant, and the staff, while some were attentive, were a bit hit-or-miss with their hospitality.

I stayed in a Victorian Suite, and while spacious, it was overwhelmingly dark and filled with furniture. The view was disappointing, too.
Service

Some staff, like the young lady at the front desk, were genuinely helpful, but a few others seemed disengaged and not particularly welcoming.

The hotel is perfectly located in the Cathedral Quarter, surrounded by lively bars and restaurants, making it convenient for exploring Belfast.

Breakfast in the Great Room was a highlight of my stay, with prompt, attentive service and delicious food. The cocktail bar, Bert’s, added a fun vibe with live music.

I appreciated the hotel’s spa and leisure facilities, though I didn’t have a chance to enjoy them. The roof-top hot tub looked inviting.

I had a lovely stay at The Merchant Hotel, highlighted by its gorgeous Art Deco style and a fabulous breakfast. However, I was a bit disappointed with the noise from the rooftop bar that interrupted my relaxation. Overall, the attentive staff and opulent atmosphere made for a pleasant experience. 🌟

My room was spacious and beautifully decorated in Art Deco style, featuring a comfortable bed and a luxurious bathroom with an amazing shower and rolled-top bath. However, I felt the decor was slightly tired compared to expectations.

I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast in the Great Room, which was beautifully presented and delicious. However, my dining experience at The Cloth Ear was average and did not meet the same high standard.

The rooftop hot tub was a nice touch, though it was a bit crowded when I visited. Valet parking was a huge bonus for navigating the busy city.

My stay at The Merchant Hotel was a journey into luxury, highlighted by stunning decor and attentive service. Although my room was spacious and beautiful, I noticed some amenities could use an upgrade (like a less tired decor in the Victorian section). The breakfast was impressive, especially the pancakes, but some of the dining options felt a bit repetitive for longer stays. Despite these minor drawbacks, the overall experience was one of indulgence and comfort.

The room was spacious with regal decor, but the Victorian suite decor was becoming a bit tired. I appreciated the comfortable bed and great amenities, although a few updates would enhance the experience.

Located central to Belfast, I loved the easy access to local attractions and vibrant nightlife, although I noticed the street noise at night could disrupt sleep (especially from nearby bars).

I highly enjoyed breakfast in the Great Room and the quality of food was impressive, especially the pancakes. However, the limited dinner menu felt repetitive for a longer stay.

Facilities like the cocktail bar were good, yet I felt the fitness center could benefit from more biking options and stretching space. The attention to cleanliness and upkeep was praised.

Overall, my stay at The Merchant Hotel was quite enjoyable with its stunning decor and really good staff. The breakfast was good, especially the Eggs Benedict. However, I did encounter some noise issues from nearby bars, which disturbed my sleep on Saturday night. Still, the luxurious ambiance and attentive service made for a nice experience.

I had a lovely stay at The Merchant Hotel, mainly due to the gorgeous room and splendid service. The rooftop hot tub was a highlight, though it was disappointing that the jets weren't fully operational. Breakfast was good, but I could’ve done without the odd music choice and limited fresh fruit. Overall, I'd rate it a solid experience but with a few tweaks, it could've easily been five stars.

My Art Deco room was spacious with two queen beds and a fabulous big bathroom. I really liked the built-in makeup area in the wardrobe and the cafetière instead of a Nespresso. The room felt very quiet, which made my stay comfortable.

The rooftop hot tub was a nice touch, perfect for relaxing after a busy day, even if the jets were a little wonky. The spa facilities added to the overall relaxation vibe.
